Segway Tour Overview

After a 35-45 minute training on how to safely operate the Segway , you'll explore the San Francisco waterfront for two hours! Reservations are required. Tours are limited to nine riders and ages 12 and up are welcome. All tours start on time, so please arrive 15 minutes early.

Rules of the Road for Segways in San Francisco: Segways are not allowed on sidewalks in San Francisco. We only offer guided tours. We use a combination of designated bike paths and low speed-light traffic streets to conduct our guided tours.

We stress courtesy, rules of the road and common sense when riding a Segway in the city. The San Francisco Electric Tour Company advocates safe tour routes, careful Segway use and detailed rider education. We want a positive tour experience for our guests and encourage respect for residents and visitors sharing the roads, sidewalks and bike paths in the city.

The 3 Hour Deluxe City Tour Departs at 10:00 AM. Explore the highlights of our beautiful city by the bay. After your Segway Tour you will have the choice of returning directly to your hotel with the Shuttle at Supersightseeing Tours or doing some further sightseeing on your own.

For Segway Tour: All guests must be age 12 or older and weight between 100-250 lbs. No refunds if you do not meet these criteria.

            

Segway Tour Departure Time:
Winter Schedule: November 1, - March 31 - 10:30 AM Tour.
Spring, Summer and Fall Schedule: April 1 until October 31: 4:30 PM Tour.

Important: Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled Segway tour time to check in and start your tour and training on time.

SEGWAY LOCATION: Segway Tours depart from the rear parking lot at 757 Beach Street near the corner of Hyde Street. Located across Beach Street from the Hyde Street Cable Car turn around in Fisherman's Wharf. A Wells Fargo Bank ATM is at the entrance to our training area.

Important: Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled Segway tour time to check in and start your tour and training on time. The tour and training will last 2 1/2 to three hours and include stops for a refreshment and lots of pictures. Tours are limited to nine riders. Reservations are required.

City Tour Departure Point:

Tours departs at 10:00 AM (Summer) and 2:00 PM (Winter) from the SuperSightseeing Office, 2627 Taylor Street, San Francisco, CA 94133 - located at the corner of Taylor and North Point, across from the Hayatt Fisherman's Wharf Hotel. Hotel pick-ups are also available. Passengers should meet at this address 15 minutes prior to departure.

City Tour Dates and Departure Times:

Daily 10:00 AM (Summer) or 2:00 PM (Winter) Closed Christmas and New Years Day

Return Details:

Tour concludes at the original departure point in Fisherman's Wharf or at your hotel.

Confirmation & Travel Voucher:

For every confirmed booking you will receive an e-mail with a link to your E-Ticket Voucher - when your booking is confirmed. Print voucher on your home/office computer. Please present this E-Ticket voucher at the Tour Office.

This combination tour must be booked at least 24 hours in advance of your travel date. Your confirmation for this product will be received within 12- 24 hours subject to availability.

Who can ride a Segway? Are Segways safe for children or people with disabilities?

Riding a Segway is similar to riding a bike-it's intuitive but nobody is born knowing how to operate it. That's why we offer 35-45 minutes of training so you can get familiar with riding a Segway. A Segway is NOT an ideal mode of touring for people with some mobility issues.

Segway riding is not recommended for pregnant women. Unfortunately, pregnant women will not be permitted to participate.

All guests must be able to easily and quickly step on and off the Segway without any assistance, which requires physical abilities similar to climbing and descending stairs without assistance or use of a handrail.

The Segway is not appropriate for those weighing under 100 pounds or over 250 pounds(46-113 kilos.) Helmets are provided and required.
We do require that all riders be at least 12 years old. Riders under 18 must be accompanied by parent or guardian.

NOTE: To All Guests for the Segway Tour: All guests must be age 12 or older and weigh between 100-250 lbs. No refunds if you do not meet these criteria.

Segway Liability Agreement:

All customers will be required to review and sign our tour agreement and liability waiver before starting their tour. The San Francisco Electric Tour Company assumes no responsibility for delays caused by accidents, breakdown, bad conditions of the road and other conditions beyond control, in addition to insufficient numbers of guests. Not responsible for loss or damage to property.

Changes to a Reservation and Cancellation and No Show Policy:

Reservations require a full deposit via Credit Card. We will send an e-mail confirmation of the date and time of your tour. Deposits are fully refundable if the reservation is can canceled 3 days -72 hours or more prior to the scheduled tour. We have a limited amount of Segways. No Shows are charged in full. The deposit WILL NOT be refunded for any reason within 72 hours of your scheduled tour. A signed liability waiver is required prior to your tour departure.

IMPORTANT Check your Confirmation for Correct Date and Time:

It is your responsibility to be at the designated tour location on the correct date. Please check your confirmation carefully. No refund for no-shows.

Tour prices do not include Meals, Beverages, Admission Fees, Tolls or Souvenirs.

Tour Size, Routing and Weather:

We reserve the right to change the size or routing of the tour to meet demands for that specific day. San Francisco is famous for the fog! Our Segway tours run fog, light rain or shine. We always suggest multiple layers of warm clothing for any San Francisco activity. Summer afternoon temperatures can be in the 50's. Rain gear is available for those infrequent rainy days. Segways are designed to run in any weather. If seasonal fog or weather obscures the view, tour routes may be altered. You will not be charged if we cancel a tour.
